The International English Language Institute (IELI) is part of Hunter College of the City University of New York (CUNY). We have offered courses in English as a Second Language (ESL) since 1950.  The IELI serves over 3,500 students per year, in courses ranging from beginner to Bridge-to-College.  We enroll New York City residents, visitors on tourist visas, diplomats, and international students. We are authorized to issue I-20 forms.

Our On-line registration system makes it easy to register from anywhere in the world. Our Registration Staff is here to give you information and help you choose and register for classes in-person.  Our Student Services Department helps you with all visa requirements.
